Air Force Association “Pete” Knight Chapter

Welcome to the William J. "Pete" Knight Chapter of the Air Force Association (AFA Chapter 294) website.

The AFA is an independent, nonprofit, civilian education organization promoting public understanding of aerospace power and the pivotal role it plays in the security of the nation. AFA publishes Air Force Magazine, conducts national symposia and disseminates information through outreach programs. It sponsors professional development seminars and recognizes excellence in the education and aerospace fields through national awards programs. AFA presents scholarships and grants to Air Force active duty, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve members and their dependents; and awards educator grants to promote science and math education at the elementary, secondary, and high school level.  Additionally, AFA publishes a wide range of materials at WWW.AFA.ORG

The “Pete” Knight Chapter is an official private organization (PO) at Edwards AFB and is honored to be both a supporting member of "Team Edwards" and a charter member of the "Friends of Edwards Air Force Base".  Chapter 294 is based out of Edwards AFB and is composed of AFA members from Edwards AFB and the surrounding Antelope Valley communities including Rosamond, Boron, North Edwards, California City, Mojave, Lancaster, and Palmdale.

The “Pete” Knight Chapter is indebted to friend of our Chapter, famous aviation artist Mike Machat, for his design of our Chapter Logo. The logo in the upper left corner of this page was one of Mike’s working drafts, but we loved it so much we decided it would be just fine for our webpage. If you’re interested in the inspiration for this logo, go Google “Knighthood at Mach 6” :-)

The Air Force Association educates the public about the critical role of aerospace power in the defense of our nation; advocates aerospace power and a strong national defense; and supports the United States Air Force, the Air Force family, and aerospace education.
